Dr Anna Symonds

Consultant Clinical Psychologist, Founder and Director of Elysian Psychology

Dr-anna-symonds-Psychologist
I qualified at the University of Leicester with a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (DClinPsy) and have been working in private practice as well as NHS and University positions for over ten years with children, young people, adults and medical professionals. I currently hold a permanent post at the University of Lincoln on the Clinical Psychology Doctorate training course (DClinPsy).

I offer specialist therapy services to young people and their families who present with a range of emotional issues, the aim of which is to relieve psychological distress and emotional pain through the management and regulation of emotions, encouraging the enhancement of emotional development and growth, and empowering and motivating young people to manage their own difficulties with specific psychological strategies. Where appropriate, I also incorporate guidance to those supporting the client to assist them through these sometimes daunting difficulties and changes.

I founded www.dr-annasymonds.co.uk which has been a provider of psychological therapy for children and adolescents for over ten years. I also established the West Bridgford Therapy Rooms in order to provide a comfortable, private therapeutic space suited to elicit psychological change. I am the founder and director of Elysian Psychology.

I am the mother to two school aged children and in my spare time enjoy singing in local choirs and acapella groups as well as leading a school choir and practising Yoga.
