Dr Melita Housley
I qualified as a Clinical Psychologist at Staffordshire University and have extensive experience of working with children, young people and adults with a range of difficulties including but not limited to anxiety, low mood, relationship difficulties and experiences of trauma in both the NHS and independent sector.
I currently hold an NHS position working with children and young people who have experienced trauma within their early care giving relationships. This involves supporting their carers, teachers and social workers and using attachment focused therapies with the children and young people themselves. Additionally, I have experience using a number of other models of therapy with children, young people and adults including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Compassion Focused Therapy.
I value keeping up to date with current research and regularly attend training events and courses. I am a mum to three school-aged children and I enjoy playing the piano and attending acting classes in my spare time!
