Dr Danila D'errico

Clinical Psychologist

I am a qualified Clinical Psychologist currently working in the NHS in a Community Mental Health Team for Adults in Working Age. I love my job and I believe it is a privilege to be able to step into someone’s life and become, even if for a short amount of time, part of their life story, their narrative. My aim is to ensure you feel heard, supported, and ultimately empowered.

In the past, I have helped people to process past traumatic experiences that were having a major impact on their lives (e.g., by leading to traumatic stress associated symptoms including dissociation, nightmares, flashbacks). I have helped people to understand patterns of relating to self and others which might have left them feeling stuck, anxious, sad, guilty, and/or ashamed. It can often be difficult to know where or when our difficulties originated from. I will practice within my areas of competency to create a safe space where together we will attempt to make sense of your difficulties, and explore alternative more helpful and compassionate strategies. Hopefully, that will help to reduce distress and increase compassion towards self and others.

Engaging in therapy can be psychologically, emotionally, and at times physically challenging and draining; however, it can also be such an important step towards a better quality of life. I will be alongside you throughout, and we will take it one step at the time to ensure you feel supported and contained at all times.
