Dr Sophie Wicks Clinical Psychologist

I am a caring and compassionate Clinical Psychologist who has worked in the NHS for over ten years within the East Midlands. Over this time, I have worked with people who have a range of difficulties, including anxiety, low mood, relational difficulties and complex trauma.

I have a special interest in disordered eating and eating disorders and significant experience of working with people who struggle with this, having worked in specialist eating disorder services in the region. Since qualifying, I have attended further training in supporting people with these difficulties and associated problems such as low self-esteem, perfectionism and self-criticism.

I work collaboratively with people to develop a shared understanding of their difficulties and experience. I believe that life can be tricky sometimes and having a space to think about this with the right person, can help us to find the way forward and have the confidence to do things differently.

I work mostly with adults, but I also see young people aged 16 upwards who are looking to work on a one to one basis.
